Who we share your data with

If you make an online donation to Toby’s campaign, you will be asked to submit a Donor Information form that includes your name, address, phone, email address, employer name, employer city, and job title. If you are a business entity, you will also be asked for the name of the entity and the name of the authorized representative of the entity. State law requires us to report your name, address, and contribution amount to the Public Disclosure Commission; if aggregate contributions during the campaign exceed $250, we must also report your employer name, city, and job title. The Public Disclosure Commission makes these reports available to the general public on their web site https://www.pdc.wa.gov. We do not disclose your information directly to any other person or entity, but the reports on the PDC web site are available to anyone worldwide.

If you choose to endorse Toby’s candidacy, you will be asked to submit an Endorsement form that includes your name, title or other affiliation, city, phone, email address, photo (if you want to submit one), and an optional endorsement statement. We will contact you to confirm this information. The campaign, at its discretion, will post endorsements on an Endorsements page on this web site, and may also use endorsements in campaign advertising and other materials. We will not disclose information directly to any other entity, but the information posted on the Endorsements page is visible to anyone worldwide. 

How long we retain your data

We retain information on contributions for at least the period required by state law and the Public Disclosure Commission, which is currently five calendar years after the conclusion of the campaign. We maintain backups of all campaign data indefinitely. 

What rights you have over your data

You can request at any time to receive an exported file or files of information the campaign retains about your previous contributions or endorsements. You can request that we erase any personal data we hold about you, but we cannot erase any data we are required by law to keep or that has already been provided to the Public Disclosure Commission.
